Chancellor George Blumenthal hosted UCSC's first-ever Intellectual Forum, on April 26; the event was part of the campus's 2008 Reunion Weekend. Discussing the subject "Innovation and Education in a Global Society" were the following panelists: innovation guru John Kao, historian Victor Davis Hanson (Cowell '75), and Silicon Valley leader Shellye Archambeau. The discussion was moderated by New York Times senior editor Katy Roberts (Kresge '74). The forum, which took place in the new Humanities Lecture Hall, was followed by the annual Alumni Vintners Wine Reception.
